poker terms for 6-max no-limit hold'em — seats, streets, bets, and what this trainer means.
- NLHE
- no-limit texas hold'em. you can bet any amount up to your whole stack. this is what nlh.gg trains.
- 6-max
- six seats at the table. fewer players than full ring → more aggression, wider ranges. every hand here is 6-max.
- hole cards
- the two private cards dealt only to you. aka your hand.
- board / community
- shared cards face-up in the middle. everyone uses them with their hole cards.
- showdown
- end of the hand when remaining players flip cards. best five-card hand wins the pot.
- muck
- fold without showing. if you lose or fold, your cards usually stay face-down.
